It is quite sad to see a believer in Christ to wallow in regret.The feeling of guilt and utter regret should not be a norm in the christian life.
Yes, you may have messed up big time and done something you never thought you would do and yes you may have fallen back to the addictions you wish to kick out.It would be best if you realized it sooner rather than later that you are not(and will never be) perfect on this earth in terms of deeds and thoughts.
The good news however is that you are not accepted by your actions and deeds nor anything in the fleshly realm but in the realm of faith.In Christ,God sees you perfectly righteous.
Today,when you sin,do not hit back at yourself nor should you entertain feelings of guilt and remorse.At that moment,remind yourself that you are the righteousness of God in Christ because that is your true identity before your Father in heaven.
Do not live life wallowing in your sins be it of the past or present.Instead get lost in His grace and love for you because His grace is greater than your lifetime of sins.
