THE THREE MAN ILLUSTRATION OF RIGHTEOUSNESS IN CHRIST

These illustration depicts three 35 year old Christian men .We will use the example of adultery because society and the mainstream church see it as a "Larger and more serious" sin(ofcourse there is nothing like that but for convenience sake, let's

Man 1 _ Lived a promiscuous lifestyle.Fathered a child at age 18 and would have had two more children by age 25 with different women had he not compelled them to have abortions. He is now a 35 year old bachelor.

Man 2 _ Was married at 27 years while still a virgin, however five years later he fell into temptation and committed adultery. He quickly realized his mistake and a year later managed to end the illicit affair. He is now 35 years old, still married and a father of one(by his wife)

Man 3_ Married at 29.also as a virgin. However unlike the first and the second man,he has NEVER acted on his fleshly thoughts and has remained faithful to His wife.He is now 35 years old.

Now a fool would say that the first man is the worst and has weak morals. He would go on to also condemn the second man but think of him better than the first and finally point both men to the third and say"why can you not be like this man??"To a fool, the third man is not guilty of adultery.

God however sees all three men completely the same.In His eyes, this men are all perfectly righteous and Spotlessly clean,His dear beloved children. You see in God's eyes,ALL 3(even the one third one according to Jesus in Mt 5 28) are guilty of adultery but their sin has been judged fully on the body of Christ on the cross 2000 years ago.In God's economy, all three men are worthy and wonderful elements of His Joy.He is pleased with them and will pour out many blessings throughout their lives.

Now one would say that we are making light of sin, saying that adultery is ok and even encouraging abortion. This is not true,if you have been on this page for a while, you know we never state or lean towards exercising sin.

However we will not make light of the blood of Jesus Christ on the cross. We will not make light of His Grace and awesome love for us.No one will get to heaven by their good works and moral standings(romans 3 20,galatians 2 16)

So from today onwards,do not be like the fool who weighs people by their deeds but regard no one from a worldly/fleshly point of view.(2 corinthians 5 16)Do not even bother judging unbelievers because you do not know whether they will be saved in the years to come.

Finally,do not think of yourself as more pleasing to God just because you are more morally upright than many. That is called self righteousness.Let Christ be your righteousness. His the only perfect one,so choose to be IN Him.
