Do not be fooled into taking the finished work for granted(Gal 3 2-5).You cannot get any closer to God than you are now.
You are close because God made you close and that’s the only way you could ever be close in the first place.(Eph 2 13-14) No amount of fasting,charity work,bible study or re-dedication will get you any closer because you are as close as you can be right now.You may not FEEL close,closeness may not seem like an experience you are enjoying right now but the FACT remains,you are close.He has you in a place of no escape.You cannot get away from Him and His love even if you tried to.(John 10 28-Romans 8 35-39)

He was always for you even when you didn’t believe in Him and wanted nothing to do with His Son(Romans 5 8).Now that you are His child,what makes you think He suddenly wants to slave you out?If there were things for us to do to gain God’s approval,do you think any man would ever attain it?
Friends,you are alright with God.You are at peace with Him simply by virtue of being a believer.Soak in that.You cannot get any more at peace because this was obtained via the cross(Romans 5 1).
We do have the Holy Spirit and He is our counsel and comforter throughout life.One thing He surely is not is the one to condemn us or make us feel unworthy for not reaching certain self made spiritual standards(Romans 8 1.Romans 8 34).You will never rise to a higher spiritual standard than you are at now seated in heavenly places with Christ.(Eph 2 6)
