By baby christian am not speaking of your children,rather than the type of Christian that faces spiritual stagnation.Find out which type of Christian you are.
1. Baby christians say things like"Will God ever forgive me???....I have been sinned for so many years knowingly.
while mature christians KNOW that their sins PAST PRESENT AND FUTURE are already forgiven.(1pet 3 18..col 1 22 and throughout the epistles)
2.Baby Christians think that they should perform in any or many ways so that they can be RECONCILED TO GOD(confession of all sins,fasting,Eucharist,wat
Mature Christians know that nothing can separate them from Christ.(A list is given in romans 8 35 to 39)
3.Baby Christians believe that focusing on the new covenant of Grace will lead to people sinning more.
Mature Christians know that it is impossible to live under grace and be a slave of sin at the same time.Romans 6 1 and 2(by the way dead to sin does not mean dead to the influence of sin...check the previous article)
4 Baby christians prefer a mix of the new and old covenants(Most of them actually focus on keeping the law...but when they sin,they look for God's grace and mercy)
Mature Christians will NOT mix the old covenant with the new because they know the futility of fighting with the flesh.(romans 7 8 14)
5.Baby Christians have the Holy spirit but do not initiate it at all because they mix the 2 covenants.(galatians 5 18..law and The Spirit do not mix)
Mature Christians Initiate the Holy spirit on on a more regular basis because they are completely focused on the new covenant.(Righteousness by faith In Christ..ONLY)
6.Baby christians prefer to focus more on sin and its consequences....or on doing Works for the Lord(dead works).
Mature Christians prefer to focus on Jesus and His love for them.(This leads them to doing works out of love rather than a sense of obligation)
7.Baby Christians do not understand the difference between works and dead works.(Dead works are those under moral obligation and not of the spirit)
Mature Christians will grow in faith(by focusing on their righteousness in Christ)and then the works will be produced effortlessly.(by faith)
8.Baby Christians believe that the reason the 10 commandments were given was for man to keep forever.
Mature Christians know that the law was only given to prove man cannot keep it and show their sinful nature and in addition to that...it was not meant to last past the coming of Christ.(galatians 3 19 20)
9.Baby Christians are quick to judge and condemn.
Mature Christians almost never do that.Simply because they do not accept to receive it from any one because in God's eyes(the one who matters most)They are perfectly righteous and spotless of any sins.Thanks to Christ ofcourse.
10.Baby christians are always stressed,sad faced and mournful(This comes from the pressures and obvious failures of keeping all of God's laws and always trying to reconcile with God by focusing on pleasing Him or gaining more favor from Him)
Mature Christians are truly care and worry free(matthew 6 34) and understand what Joy,peace and Love truly is as this are some of the fruits they gain simply for believing in the new covenant.
11.In times of affliction,Baby christians think that they are being punished for something they did or did not do.
Mature Christians know that every affliction as painful and unfair as it may seem will in the end work together for their good.(Romans 8 28)
12.Baby christians confess their sins.End up being sin conscious.
Mature Christians confess the word(There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus,By His stripes we are Healed,In my weakness is His strength,His plans are not to harm us but to make us prosper)and so much more and by doing so end up being Christ conscious.
13.Baby christians think of the afterlife and say that Hell is so full.
Mature Christians think of the afterlife and think of revelation 7 9"After this I saw a vast crowd, too great to count, from every nation and tribe and people and language, standing in front of the throne and before the Lamb. They were clothed in white robes and held palm branches in their hands."
14.Baby Christians have no confidence in the work of Jesus on the cross and that is why they keep working to please God(sadly some of them believe they can lose their salvation)
Mature Christians have complete confidence in the perfect work of Jesus Christ and believe it is enough to reconcile them with God.(Phillipians 3 9 and again all over the new testament)They also know that they cannot lose their salvation.
15.Baby christians will look at God mainly as Judge.They also think of themselves mainly as servants.
Mature Christians look at God Mainly as Father(DAD!!!)They also acknowledge the fact that they are children...sons and daughters of God.
16.Baby Christians believe God can actually get angry with them and remembers their sins.
Mature Christians know that God reserves no anger nor judgement for His children(isaiah 54 9).They also know that God chooses to not see or remember their sins and lawless deeds(hebrews 10 17).Simply because all was legally punished in Christ.
17.Baby Christians actually think that by what they do,they are more cleaner and Holier than others.
Mature Christians know that every thing they do is simply Christ in them(galatians 2 20) and therefore cannot boast of being Holier or any better.
18 Baby Christians look at other Christians and compare their works,good deeds and devotion to Church activities with them.
Mature Christians know that they are perfectly righteous and therefore do not compare themselves with others as none is comparable to Christ's righteousness that is in them.
19.Baby christians think that it is their duty to keep the two greatest commandments and therefore they STRIVE to Love God and others perfectly...from within themselves as this is equal to keeping all the commandments plus all the prophets decrees .
Mature Christians Know that loving God and others perfectly is impossible because the law CANNOT be fully kept by man...and therefore they let God love them first..and from this position of receiving God's love they can go and love God and others too.(1 John 4 19)
20.Baby Christians think they can give love to God.
Mature Christians know that God gives them everything and so they give back..including love(1 John 4 19)They simply receive and give back to the Lord and others.
Simply put Baby Christians will mix the law and grace and produce no useful fruit as new wine in destroys old wineskins... while Mature Christians are fully under Grace(2nd covenant)and with time will produce the fruits of the spirit(as New wine is should be put into new wine skins)luke 5 37 38
Now none of the 2 can lose their salvation but Life on earth is far much better actually having a relationship with Christ than spending time trying to reconcile all the time,confessing,fasting and working.Its all finished and completed.Trying to complete something already completed only makes it complicated.True Christianity is actually pretty simple.(2cor 11 3(kjv)
