WHY PREACH THE TEN COMMANDMENTS???WHAT PART OF THE BIBLE DON'T YOU UNDERSTAND???It is a very foolish phenomenon in churches today but can you tell me how many sermons are preached along the lines??"Yes you are saved by Grace...but now you have to perform so God's work is not in vain."This is utter nonsense.
You tell people "ok..you have now been saved through the new covenant and by the grace of Christ...now its time to go back to the old covenant and keep God's laws to the best of your ability."WHAT!!!!WHICH BIBLE IS THAT??? Paul warns against such perversion of the gospel in galatians 1 6."I am astonished that you are so quickly deserting the one who called you to live in the GRACE OF CHRIST and are turning to a different gospel— 7 which is really no gospel at all".
The Grace of Christ is purely None of you and all of Him...In other words,You are completely and fully accepted by God and He sees you completely and eternally righteous ALL BECAUSE CHRIST TOOK YOUR PLACE AT THE CROSS.It's all His doing and not yours.You cannot do anything to add to God's love for you.
Do you for one moment think that your own good deeds can allow you to access God's favor and blessings or more of His love??.Isaiah 64 6 says all our righteousness(the good we do)are like filthy rags in God's eyes.Therefore it is not what you do...but what you believe.It is all of Christ but none of self
There are christians,even some new covenant believers who still keep tabs on their performance according to the ten commandments and whenever they fail,they feel like they have disappointed God.Listen,God DOES NOT WANT YOU LOOKING AT THE TEN COMMANDMENTS TO RATE YOURSELF...HE SIMPLY WANTS YOU TO LOOK AT JESUS AND HIS FINISHED WORK FOR YOU ON THE CROSS...THAT'S IT!!!! Don't even bother looking at your feelings or how much "love" you have for God.Focus on Jesus and let Him live through you.
Friends I submit to you today that the problems you are facing in your life that don't seem to ever change is simply because you DO NOT ONLY BELIEVE.You feel like"now that I am saved,I must go out there and fight the good fight of faith and WORK OUT MY OWN SALVATION..."This is a wrong and religious mentality.You were saved by none of your works but only believing.
Either way you cannot work out your own salvation because it has to be worked In to you first.Then you can effortlessly work it out.In other words,Jesus loves you and empowers you to go out and love others...that is working out something already worked into you.It's always all of Jesus and None of your works.
KEEP ON ONLY BELIEVING and the fruits of the Holy spirit will effortlessly manifest.Your works will be effortless and stressless.You will no longer be working to please God,but working because God has truly pleased you and it will be Him working in you.
Only the proud think that they can do good things for God in and out of themselves.If the gospel you are hearing is not based on all of Jesus and tells you to examine yourself and your thoughts and your heart,then it is Not the gospel of Christ.Even if it promotes a little bit of self effort without Christ,that is a mixture.That is a different gospel.
So believe...IN WHAT??Believe that you are the righteousness of Christ APART from your works.In other words...you are righteous and completely blessed not because you do good things but simply because Jesus took your sin and you received His awesome righteousness. Never forget the words in Romans 8 1..there is therefore now no condemnation for those that are in Christ Jesus.Friend.God sees you as righteous,if He says so...it is so.
I grew up in a church that taught mixture.God has done His part now do yours.They would say Grace is only for salvation...now its your turn to go out.Those days were the worst in my life.The feeling that you let God down and that He is angry with you until you do something is NOT conviction but an acceptance of condemnation.
If what you are hearing is not pure grace and all of Christ and none of us,you are listening to a different gospel
