THE WOMEN IN THE GENEALOGY OF JESUS....A MUST READ
friends

There are only 5 women mentioned in the genealogy of Jesus in the new testament.ALL exept Mary have a History

Let's get to the point. The first woman mentioned in the genealogy of Jesus is Tamar. She is the one who posed as a prostitute to sleep with his father in law Judah and became pregnant with twins Perez and Zerah...read genesis 38(scandalous story.

The next woman to be mentioned is Rahab find her in Joshua 2..Now Rahab was a prostitute and a gentile. However she believed in the God of Israel and got saved by faith in times of the law.She also helped the israeli spies escape by hiding them under the flax.

The third woman is Ruth. Now Ruth is probably the most virtuos of the women in the genealogy of Jesus OBVIOUSLY AFTER MARY.However Ruth was a Moab.Moabites were one of the Israelites greatest enemies along with the philistines. The law actually discouraged the marriage of a Moab to an israelite.

The fourth woman is Bathsheba. She and David are partially to blame for their adulteress relationship but guess what despite David having other lawful wives and over 10 children,God chose Bathsheba's son Solomon.Unbelievable right.

Now if these women were blessed under the old covenant where the grace of God was severly limited. What makes you think that today WHEN GRACE HAS FULLY COME that because of your past lifestyle..your sins..your failures..your disobedience...that God will leave you???

Now lets make it clear.I am against sin however the blood of Jesus is greater than all sins.If the blood of bulls and goats during atonement would keep the offerer clean for a whole year despite his sin,how much more the blood of Jesus.Do you know whose Blood it is that was shed on the cross??

Hebrews 11 31 states"By faith Rahab because she welcomed the spies was not killed with the disobedient."

So if you think that you can gain God's favor by doing good works remember these women.Who were honored immensely by God's favor not by what they did.Isaiah 64 6"all our righteousness is like filthy rags in the eyes of God."

So stop trying to gain blessings by your works and receive all the Lord has done for you at the cross. For God looks at you as righteous and lovely and he really loves you as if you are the only human alive all thanks to what Jesus did for you on the cross. All sins past present and future are forgiven and you are a righteous child of God.
